Kerala Bank employees contribute Rs 5.25 crore to CMDRF
The employees of Kerala State Cooperative Bank (Kerala Bank) have contributed Rs 5.25 crore to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) in the wake of the landslips that struck Mundakkai area in Wayanad district.
Bank president, Sri.Gopi Kottamurickal handed over the cheque to the Hon. Chief Minister on August 21, 2024. Hon. Minister for Cooperation, Ports and Devaswom, Sri.V.N.Vasavan, Bank CEO, Sri.Jorty M.Chacko, leaders of the employees’ organizations, Kerala Bank Employees Federation (KBEF) president, Sri.Kadakampally Surendran, MLA, KBEF general secretary, Sri.K.T.Anilkumar, Kerala Bank Employees Congress general secretary, Sri.K.S.Shyamkumar were also present on the occasion,
The cheque was handed over after employees voluntarily took a decision to donate their five days salary to the CMDRF and the employees organizations backing it. Kerala Bank had contributed Rs 50 lakh to CMDRF on July 30, 2024. The Director Board of the Bank had also decided to write off the loans of those who are customers of the Chooralmala branch of the Bank in the disaster-hit area and who are either dead now or had lost their properties that were pledged with the Bank for their loans.
