Jorty M Chacko takes over as CEO, Kerala Bank
Jorty M Chacko has taken charge as Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Kerala State Cooperative Bank ( Kerala Bank).
A selection committee headed by Kerala chief secretary had recommended the name of Jorty M Chacko following the end of the tenure of current CEO, which was sanctioned by the State Cabinet. The RBI had earlier given nod to his appointment.
Mr.Jorty took over as CEO of Kerala after having served as Executive Director ( Retail Banking Division) of IDBI for five years. He brings with him a long banking experience of four decades, having served in both old and new generation private banks, as well as in nationalised Bank. He is also armed with the experience of two mergers: IDBI and IDBI Bank Limited in 2005, and, United Western Bank ( UWB) with IDBI in 2007. He has taken over as CEO of Kerala Bank after having served in leading Banks in Kerala for 10 years.
He had the privilege to work across various portfolios including Retail banking, Treasury & Risk Management, and, NRE Business and had been instrumental in bringing reforms prompting growth in these portfolios.
He had a pivotal role in turning around loss making IDBI bank into a profitable one. His stellar performance in banking sector will definitely create a win-win situation for Asia's largest Cooperative bank-Kerala Bank, that is also aspiring to become the number one bank in the State
