Hon. Kerala CM inaugurates digital banking services of the Kerala Bank
Kerala Chief Minister, Sri. PinarayiVijayan said that the whole State will be reaping the benefits of the achievement of Kerala Bank including its IT integration.
Sri. Vijayan was speaking after inaugurating the digital services of the Kerala Bank at Udaya Palace Convention Centre at Thiruvananthapuram on 18.05.2023. The CM noted that the more Banking services has to reach the people in rural areas. He pledged Government’s support for projects that the Kerala Bank has formulated for achieving the above goal.
Mr. Vijayan was of the opinion that the two mobile apps launched by the Bank, namely KB Prime for individuals and KB Prime Plus for institutions are capable of attracting more customers. Digital banking facilities will help in catapulting the growth of the Bank. The CM observed that the time-bound completion of the IT Integration process which began in 2021, was a proud achievement. Also, by this completion, the Bank was able to fulfill the most important condition put forward by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) during the former’s formation period.
Mr. Vijayan said that a greater network can be created by linking the branches of the Kerala Bank and PACS through interface. By this, a great transformation is going to happen in the State, he said. The effort to start NRI accounts should continue. Kerala Bank can grow itself to be the Kerala’s no. one Bank in the State in a short period, he added.
Minister for Cooperation and Registration, Sri. V.N. Vasavan presided. Leader of the Opposition, Sri. V.D. Satheeshan delivered the key note address. Minister for Water Resources, Sri. Roshy Augustine disbursed the excellence awards to PACS on the occasion.
The farmers awards instituted by the Kerala Bank for the best farmers in the State, Minister’s Trophy for the employees were also distributed. Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor, Smt. Arya Rajendran, former Minister for Cooperation, Sri. KadakamppallySurendran, MLA, Secretary to Government (Cooperation), Smt. Mini Antony, IAS, Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Sri. T.V. Subash, IAS, State Cooperative Union president, Sri. Koliyakode Krishnan Nair, Bank CEO, Sri. P.S. Rajan, Chief General Manager, Sri. K.C. Sahadevan also participated. Kerala Bank president, Sri. GopiKottamurickal welcomed the gathering while Chief General Manager, Sri. A.R. Rajesh proposed the vote of thanks.


Team from Telangana Medak DCCB visits Kerala Bank
A team from the District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB), Medak, Telangana visited Kerala Bank on January 21, 2023 to study the activities of the Bank, which was formed as a result of de-layering of three-tier cooperative sector in Kerala to two-tier by amalgamating the 13 District Cooperative Banks (DCBs) with the State Cooperative Bank.
A 30-member strong team including Medak DCCB president, Sri. Devendra Reddy, members of the Director board, CEO, Sri. M. Srinivas, and other higher officials were the visitors. They held talks with Bank president, Sri. GopiKottamurickal, CEO, P.S. Rajan, Chief General Manager, Sri. K.C. Sahadevan and Chief Financial Officer, Sri. N. Sivasankaran.

Kerala Bank-First in Asia
Kerala Bank has bagged the first position in Asia as per the World Cooperative Monitor report brought out by International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) with the scientific and technical support of the European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprise (Euricse). The Bank climbed up to the top position in Asia in the financial services sector from among the list of top 300 cooperatives and mutuals based on Turnover/GDP per capita.
The Kerala Bank formed on 29.11.2019 by amalgamating 13 District Cooperative Banks with the State Cooperative Bank is a dream project of Hon: Kerala Chief Minister, Sri. PinarayiVijayan. The State was able to create a niche in the World Cooperative Sector by this achievement of the Kerala Bank.
Bank president, Sri.GopiKottamurickal said that the achievement of the Kerala Bank as it falls on the third anniversary is a honour for the hard work and systematic work put forward by the Bank’s Board of Directors, Board of Management, higher officials and all employees.


World Bank team visits Kerala Bank
The team from World Bank visited the Kerala State Cooperative Bank (Kerala Bank) as part of implementation of Kerala Climate Resilient Agri-Value Chain Modernisation (KERA) project at its HO on 13.06.2023.
World Bank Senior Financial Specialist, Sri. Toshiaki Ono, Senior Rural Finance Officer, FAO, Sri. Frank Hollinger and World Bank consultant, Sri. N. Srinivasan, visited Kerala Bank and hold talks withCEO, Sri. P.S. Rajan. Team leader, KERA Project Preparation Team (PPT), Sri. Jacob Joy, Subject Matter Specialist, KERA PPT, Smt. Chinnu Joseph also accompanied the World Bank team.
The World Bank team is on a whirlwind tour of the Banks in the State including Kerala Bank holding interactions with their higher officials focusing on subjects like Agri MSME, Rural financial institutions etc. KERA project is aiming at creating bulwarks against the effects of natural disasters and climate changes on State agricultural sector as well as modernization of the value chain systems in the agricultural sector, with aid from World Bank.


NAFSCOB National Award for Kerala Bank
The prestigious award given by NAFSCOB for the best State Co-operative Bank has won by Kerala Bank. On April 25, 2022 in Chhattisgarh, Raipur the award was distributed. On behalf of Kerala Bank, Sri .Sunil Chandran. C received the award from Chhattisgarh Honourable Chief Minister Shri.Bhupesh Baghal.

At Marine Drive, Ernakulum from 18-04-2022 to 25-04-2022 Co-op Expo 2022 was conducted. Kerala Bank’s stall has the public attention. Kerala Bank got the award for the best branding.


Kerala Bank arranged the 1st anniversary of Government of Kerala.
The Second government led by Honourable Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan’s First Anniversary state level inauguration was held on 03-4-2022 in Kannur. The exhibition was organized at Kannur Police Training Ground from 03-04-2022 to 14-04-2022. Kerala Bank’s stall received public attention in the exhibition.


Reception for NABARD Chairman
NABARD Chairman Dr.G.R.Chintala who visited Kerala Bank on 23-03-2022 was given a warm welcome. Bank’s President Sri.Gopi Kottamurickal, Sri.V.Reveendran, Chairman, Board of Management, Sri.P.S.Rajan, CEO, and Sri.K.C.Sahadevan, CGM all were present at the function.


Be the Number One
The Minister for Co-operation, Shri. Vasavan. Said all cooperative sectors and its coming in its circular need to join together to work for the development of Kerala regarding poverty, agricultural development, unemployment.
He said at the inauguration of the workshop organized by Kerala Bank at Kerala Arts & Crafts Village, Kovalam as part of the "Be the Number One: Campaign" aimed at making Kerala Bank the number one institution in Kerala.
He said it was up to Kerala Bank to fill the gap left by the withdrawal of nationalized banks from small lending in rural areas. Bank President Shri. Gopi Kottamurikkal presided over the function;
The two-day workshop was attended by members of the Bank's Board of Directors, members of the Board of Management and senior officials.
